Defenition: An Acquisition is when one company buys out another company.

An Acquisition is when one company buys out another company. The company acquiring the other company will have to buy a controlling amount of shares (over 50%), which would enable them to dictate the future of the company. Acquisitions are very popular and are generally done to monopolise their markets, diversify, offer new services and more.
